I would think we want the DCHP options to be on by default as it is
today. This goes inline with making an easier experience for the Admin.

Turning them off as you suggest means more administration for someone
who has DHCP to give out NTP.

Subject: [sipX-dev] Improvement suggestion for Polycom NTP Settings.

I am making this suggestions based on issue XTRN-312.

In the Polycom Phone's SNTP parameters, the following parameters should
be checked ON by default:

1. Ignore SNTP address from DHCP
2. Ignore DHCP offset

Currently they are disabled by default. The fallout of the current
defaults is that even though an administrator configures default network
parameters for NTP, this is not actually 'used' by the phone - because
the phone always uses the NTP settings that is given out by the DHCP
server.

Thoughts?

Raghu
