That may be true, but why would we care?  We can have the phone upgrade
its firmware after sipXconfig configures it.

What would be nice is a facility whereby sipXconfig can order a phone to
reboot and pick up its first configuration.  Right now, sipXconfig can
only reboot a phone that has already registered.  But since sipXconfig
knows the MAC address of the phone, there is the possibility that it can
contact the phone through a non-SIP mechanism (or a SIP mechanism that
does not require configuration of an AOR).  A default configuration that
enabled that facility in a phone would be valuable.
