I think we're fortunate in that we don't have to change it for 4.0, given the number of details we have to adjust to get this right. (There isn't a appropriate DNS name to use.) But I think the problem is already in the field with 3.10 (since the "ap" DNS name would have been eliminated in the merging of the two proxies), and we haven't heard from anybody. I expect that almost all HA failures involve a crashed host or a single crashed component.
