Hi, While working on: http://track.sipfoundry.org/browse/XX-5565 (Timezones are not applied properly) I came across a strange behavior in Linux timezones settings: When I select non geographical tz things are looking quite bizzare: 1. time is now 15 08, TZ is Europe/Bucharest date shows: Tue Apr 28 15:XX:XX EEST 2009 GMT is now 12:XX (Bucharest is now at GMT+3) Sipxecs clock shows 15:xx - correct 2. I copy /usr/zoneinfo/Etc/GMT over /etc/localtime date shows: Tue Apr 28 12:XX:XX GMT 2009 - correct 3. I copy /usr/zoneinfo/Etc/GMT+1 over /etc/localtime date shows: Tue Apr 28 11:XX:XX GMT+1 2009 - incorrect - it should display 13:xx; what it displays, is actually GMT -1 So what I see is that the system time is set incorrectly in Linux. I have checked on both FC8 and FC10 with the same results. Note that the Time.java output does not change unless I set the timezone via Java (i.e. using sipXconfig's timezone page). This looks more likely like an issue in Linux rather than in sipXconfig, Note: by date shows I mean the output of the date command in linux Since it looks like we cannot support properly non geographical timezones we thought it was best if we removed them altogether. Anyone sees any reasons why we should not? Regards, Cristi |
