Replying to a rather old post with good news. The printf null SEGV issue has been resolved in OpenSolaris 1002 build 119. This build did not get released, however. Build 120 should hopefully be out in a week or so. See Darren Moffats blog post[1] and the corresponding osol bug database entry[2] and the PSARC[3] with all the details.
