Two additional suggestions: 1) There is usually an option in the XMPP client for the user to update HIS/HER profile. That should be supported and synced with the sipXconfig phonebook as if the user would update HIS / HER contact info using the user portal. 2) If Openfire does have a full vcard stored, I suggest we at least synchronize the most important fields in addition to just the avatar.
