It would help if you provided some context about the problem you're
trying to solve.

[Chu, Xingjun [CAR:9D10:EXCH]]
Basically I need to query user's contact information based on the
username in a XMPP client, for example, pidgin.
The query is initiated from an openfire plug in.

When an user clicks "get info" for a buddy or set info for one of his
accounts from pidgin, openfire asks underneath vcard (user contact info)
provider to load the info from/or set the info to the back end data
store (could be a database or an virtual store. In our case, it's
sipXconfig.) An RESTful API is invoked to query for the contact info
based on sipX username. But the username passed in is the XMPP domain
username which is IMid, to query sipXconfig, the corresponding sipX
domain username needs to be obtained to issue the RESTful API. That's
where the problem occurs.
