> Hi all,
>
> while working on http://track.sipfoundry.org/browse/XX-5552 I realized
> that the current phonebook layout does not help too much in
> implementing CRUD operations.
> Therefore I am thinking to reorganize the layout -
> see
> http://track.sipfoundry.org/secure/attachment/23162/phonebook1.png
> and
> http://track.sipfoundry.org/secure/attachment/23163/phonebook2.png
>

I like both of these as they are closer to the original proposal.

> It does not look yet as the proposed next generation - http://sipx-
> wiki.calivia.com/images/9/94/Newphonebookcontact.png - but can be a
> step in that direction. Bassically the changes are about:
> - using smart GWT section widget for displaying grid and details: grid
> section is always expanded and fixed, details section is collapsed by
> default
> - retrieving the avatar in the existing phonebook REST service and
> displaying in the details section
> - adding search form and download link as controls for the grid
section
> - adding add / edit / delete buttons as controls for details section:
> add / edit button replaces details within the bottom section with a
> corresponding form (prepopulated in case of edit), delete removes the
> selected record (buttons can be replaced with nice icons)
>
> Another improvement here would be to add the form for importing gmail
> contacts, but I think is better to have this tracked in another issue.
>
> Let me know your thoughts about,

My only concern is things like click to call will stop working. Several
folks have gone through quite a bit of effort to make all that work
again and changing the screen I would suspect will mean that needs to be
re-done?
