As per my understanding,When default caller ID is specified on gateway, does it override the caller id specified for the user ( or vice versa ). I thought the gateway specification always overrides the per-user specification but I am not sure as to what the correct behavior should be and hence createdhttp://track.sipfoundry.org/browse/XX-8067 I would appreciate an expert opinion on this. The user-level caller Id, if defined, will take precedence over the gateway-level one. if "Default Caller ID" is defined on the gateway and simultaneously user specifies a caller ID ---> Then User's caller ID has precedence. See help text below Default caller ID which says "Caller ID used for all the calls connected through this gateway, unless more specific caller ID is specified for the user making the call." If under advanced "Specify Caller ID" is selected and a Caller ID is defined on the gateway , simultaneously a user specifies a Caller ID --> Then the gateway caller ID has precedence. See help text below Specify caller ID which says "If checked the value of Caller ID below will overwrite any values specified for user and for gateway. Use this only if you need to specify the Display Name and optional URL parameters" This used to work as described before the fix for XX-4785. Please correct me if I am wrong.
