In the various templates for configuring devices I have noticed the following behavior:
Presence - In presence the AOR is "known" like the MWI subscription. I also see the AOR is not "pushed" to the phone until the speeddial with presence is enabled, which requires the admin to (or user) to send the profile to the phone, thus requiring a restart. Is this a good idea? Since this is a subscription and is "refreshed", why can't the subscription AOR be pushed to the device (be it Polycom or Bria) even though the workgroup or speedial list is empty? Can it ibe assumed that the subscription would be successful though the list is empty? If so, why would subscribing to presence (adding a user to the presence list) require a reboot if it will autiomatically re-subscribe and load it? I am assuming it will, but will it? MWI - Is there a way to NOT subscribe to MWI on a polycom phone? I assume one would go to the "line", "messaging" and "subscribe" and "blank it". There shoudl eb an easier way for an admin to do this though, it does not seem to be functional via groups. Does it make sense to create a sipxconfig entry to "disable" this if needed? -- ====================== Tony Graziano, Manager Telephone: 434.984.8430 sip: [email protected] Fax: 434.984.8431 Email: [email protected] LAN/Telephony/Security and Control Systems Helpdesk: Telephone: 434.984.8426 sip: [email protected] Fax: 434.984.8427 Helpdesk Contract Customers: http://www.myitdepartment.net/gethelp/ Why do mathematicians always confuse Halloween and Christmas?
