I applied your patch using:

patch -p1 -i /home/mirceac/Downloads/unidata-plugin-v2.patch
(tried other commands like git am-3 or git apply -p1 but didn't work)

Anyway, the patch applied nicely (only small auto-merges) and I could also
import the code as an eclipse project)

Profiles (configuration file and phonebook) are generated and look ok to me:
For a phone with serial:

On the server side, the phone plugin resides in a .jar file located here:
sipx/share/java/sipXecs/sipXconfig/unidata-phones.jar
That jar is the only thing you have to build in order to have your unidata
plugin up and running.
This can be achieved in two ways:
1. Go under your sources directory sipxecs/sipXconfig/plugins/unidata and
run: ant && ant install or
2. Go under your build directory BUILD/sipXconfig/plugins/unidata and run:
make && make install

IMHO, overall the patch looks nice
