1. Handle this in sipXbridge and have sipXbridge send RTP keep-alives 2. Let freeswitch/sipXivr handle it via parameter http://wiki.freeswitch.org/wiki/Variable_record_waste_resources Both will waste resources. The question to ask is which among the two would handle this elegantly. Let me cast mine. Do it via the IVR code and only set the parameter when recording voice mails.
