I tried by commenting the mirror list and uncommenting the baseurl and 
then did the following

[root@1 ~]# yum install priorities
updates                                                  | 3.5 kB     00:00
updates/primary_db                                       | 3.3 MB     00:00
Setting up Install Process
No package priorities available.
Error: Nothing to do
