I would agree. I think in 4.2 it was working and broke somewhere during 4.4 (just dont have a 4.21 system to test against). In either case it is essentially the same anyway.
I think if you comment on the tracker issue and provide newer information it would help in getting it assigned and scheduled. Post back here when you do so so others will see it and be able to do the same (and vote for it) to get some attention to the issue.
