Just an FYI on 4.6. I tried an install today, not to be a very early
adopter, but because I wanted to free up an existing dual nic server with a
single nic server so I can do some work with Karoo on the dual ni. I admit
- I failed. But here are some notes in case it is of value to anyone in
development.

Tried an install from ISO - x64 of 4.6. Dell computer with Athlon 2650e,
2gb memory. This was just working in my lab with no issues on 4.4 ISO with
updates.

Install went fine with no errors of Centos 6.x. Upon reboot for the
installation, to configure sipXecs components, I received an error "r600_cp:
Failed to load Firmware! [drm:r600_startup] *error* radeon/R600_rlc.bin"
Disabling GPU Accelleration

A quick search found this link that seems to discuss it.
http://www.linuxquestions.org/questions/linux-newbie-8/r600_cp-failed-to-loa
d-firmware-radeon-r600_rlc-bin-791940/

I tried bios settings, didn't have anything in Bios that was similar to one
solution in this thread.

MY workaround for now is to reboot, go into setup and then exit setup.
Seems to boot just fine after that.

Noticed bootup now shows three different bars on the bottom of the screen,
but does not show the bootup sequence - which was nice in showing what had
errors or not.

-----------------

System boot to a login prompt. Logged in, but could not attach to gui via
the IP address, https, etc. I did some digging around and found that I
have an issue with the Interface. My Ethernet adapter was called p7p1
during setup. IP address was assigned, but not pingable. In
network-scripts directory there is ifcfg-lo and ifcfg-p7p1 only. lo is
basic 1270.0.1, 255.0.0.0, 127.0.0.0, p7p1 contains my legitimate ip
information.

I suspect some steps are missing, maybe related to IP tables, etc. I might
be a bit early in trying this install process. Not wanting to create more
work for anyone, but willing to try an install and give feedback and hope
this is of value to someone.

This might be related to my earlier issue and working around the boot
process.

If I've committed a major blunder, please let me know and I'll try
differently.

Regards,

Todd
