just wanted to update everyone on this... audiocodes has fixed the via
branch id truncation issue in their latest firmware release:
5.20A.042.003.  apparently this release increases the character limit to
100.  i am still not sure why they are hardcoding arbitrary limits, but
whatever.

so: if you are planning on using 3.10 with the mediants, you need to
upgrade to at least 5.20A.042.003.  if you are using 3.10 with an
earlier release, i am curious to know how things are going and which
release it is.

And a call that has forked will be another 33 characters longer, I'm
afraid.  This is part of a fix that implements loop detection in the
sipXproxy.

Limiting Via headers to only 49 characters (if that's what they're
doing) is just a bug - there are many implementations that wouldn't work
with.

We use Audiocodes gateways a lot without hitting this problem, so there
must be some difference...
