The Proxy-Authentication header _aught_ not to have any effect on the
gateway.
The other difference I see between your successful and unsuccessful
cases is that SJphone is sending smaller messages that the failure
cases. You (explicitly) routing to the GSM gateway using UDP - perhaps
it can't cope with fragmented UDP packets? It would fit the symptoms...
