Hi

Before i start trying SIPX , i would like to ask few supportive questions
related to my scenario. My companies head quarters having separate branches
locally and overseas as well. i wanted to implement IP based PBX system(SIPx)
as finding a solution for my above requrement.

1. How can i connect all other branches locally and overseas?

* Several ways:

If your company has a VPN to connect the branches, that would work. In your
instance making sure the VPN could prioritize SIP in the VPN to make sure
latency is reduced to a minimum would be preferable.

If the remote sites are small enough, a VPN enabled phone could also be an
option.

Directly via the Internet via a SIP firewall (like an Ingate).

Using sipXbridge (still in alpha and available as a development build now),
expected to be stable by sometime in March I think.**

2. How would be able to have all in single network ? when we wanted to dial
over seas number can we dial a exension rather than dial a big number ?

**You could have one or many sipxecs servers. If the number of users is more
than a few at remote sites, it makes more sense to have a sipxecs system at
each site.

The dialplans (a 4 or 5 digit extensions length, with a unique range for each
site) can make it easy to dial between sites. The same thing goes for dial
around LD and International rates. Office A calls a number which is an
international number. Office C can natively call that number as a local or LD
call, but it is not International. So the dialplan for Office A routes the call
through Office C's connections and bypasses the International rates.

There are a lot of options here, especially since a lot of siptrunking
providers offer extensive options with LD and International calling, etc.**

3.What type of hardware we have to purchase?

**The wiki has some guidelines on sizing, but "what type" of equipment does
directly relate to the size of your user base, the number of users, lines
(analog and digital like T1/E1/PRI at each site that you might use and the
number of sip trunks you would implement at each site for connectivity to an
ITSP does matter.

I would think more specifics would be needed from you in order to address
that.**

plese reply

Thank you
Mark.
