If you are using an FXO gateway this will not work, the TELCO will show the callerid of the actual POTS line used for that outbound call.
If you are using a siptrunk through another provider, you need to make sure your provider supports this. We use an Ingate for trunking here, but reviewing providers, we had to cycle through two providers until we found one that actually did what they advertised in this regard. In the user callerid setting, we set the callerid for that line, in the US, it usually means 1xxxyyyzzzz as a format. The gateway settings in sipx are not used for this and all fields can be blank, except keep digits, which would be "0". >>> Chad Leigh - Pengar Enterprises Inc <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> 12/03/08 2:00 AM >>> using sipXconfig (3.10.2-013143 2008-07-23T18:09:14 ecs-centos5) I configured a caller id on the gateway entry and when I call out that is used as the caller ID. None of the check boxes are checked in the gatewat caller id section. I want specific users to have their own caller id. I go to the caller id section of the user and add a caller id there. No boxes are checked. This caller id is ignored when I dial out through the gateway. How do I go about configuring it to allow me to set a custom caller id for a given user?
