I have noticed the latest releases of 3.11.x fixed the subject issue for 7940 & 
7960 SIP<MAC>.cnf device configuration files but not for the top models 797x.

These models added on release 3.11.x and they still up to now have 
SEP<mac>.cnf.xml produced as their device configuration files.
