Your biggest hurdle is likely to be authentication. By default, external dialing rules require some permission to be assigned to the caller - this is so that someone who gains access to your network can't make SIP calls through your gateway to some faraway place and you get the bill. When a rule requires a permission, an attempt to call that number will be challenged for SIP authentication, and when the authenticated request comes in the identity is checked to see if it has the permission required to make the call to the gateway. Your Trixbox (or the phones on the other side of it) will have to be able to respond to the challenge with a set of valid sipXecs system credentials to which the right permission has been assigned.
