They are using user speed dials with blf subscriptions, sorry I thought they 
were using the buddy lists.

I don't follow all of this.  

You have a blank mappingRules.externalRulesFileName entry.  I'm trying
to find out if this might cause a BLF problem.

Can you be more clear about what these are, and where they are being
entered?

I had assumed you were referring to User Speed Dials with "Subscribe to
presence" enabled, i.e. BLF.  This is actually quite different from
Polycom "Buddy" functionality.

Anyway, could you send the clarification to the sipx-users list?  I'll
read and reply to it there.  Thanks.
