Some good news for those anticipating the NAT Traversal and SIP Trunking
features of sipXecs 4.0...
Our goal was to be able to support 25 simultaneous calls (roughly the
equivalent of a T1 interface) through the packet relay that makes NAT
traversal possible. That component has been stable for some time (there
are still changes being made to the configuration user interface), and
we recently completed a round of performance testing on it to see
whether or not we had achieved the goal.
We greatly exceeded our goal - in fact, it held up just fine at 450
simultaneous calls: 18 times the goal! We only stopped there because
that was all our test rig could generate, so we were not able to test
all the way to failure. We'll probably end up choosing some number a
bit lower than that as the 'recommended maximum', but it appears that we
can easily support far more than we hoped for.

Fantastic work by M. Ranganathan (Ranga), Robert Joly, and everyone who
contributed to this, and to Chaitra Sharma for a great job on the
testing.
