In fact I checked the archives before posting and I did find a similar issue
but it was related to a disk issue (SipX would boot only from SATA drives).
In my case I have tried both IDE and SATA drives.
BTW my PC boots first from the CDROM and is not the issue (as I said
development builds boot fine)
I even tried with a DVD-ROM and same issue

I seem to recall somebody else having this problem a while ago… search the
archives to see if there was a resolution. I don’t recall what the outcome was.

It is the install ISOThe PC would just boot straight to Windows or the
development build (on one PC I still have Windows XP and on the other I have
installed the latest development build) as if the CD is not there.I do not see
the "sipXecs" starting window where you can type manual-installI know the CD is
fine as it boots fine on my laptop and of course my PCs are bootable from the
CD-ROMI tried to "fake" the initial start, i.e I first boot from a development
build and when I see the first prompt I put in the stable CD and type
"manual-install".This did not work as it could not find vmlinux> Date: Fri, 6
