Hi,

 *
First of all make sure your 7970 phone has SIP firemware.
 *
If you your DHCP server include the tftp option 66 in it with your sipXecs IP
address as the tftp server, then what you need only is to reboot the phone and
it will access your sipXecs to download the phone profile.
 *
If your DHCP server doesnt' icnlude tftp option then:
    *
Press the setting button
    *
select networking
    *
unlock the phone using **#
    *
set alternate tftp to yes
    *
put your sipx address in tftp1 address.
    *
save
    *
press **#** to reboot the telphone
    *
now the phone will try to download the phone configuration from the tftp server
(your sipx)
 *
Notice that if setup your phone from your sipx 3.11.9, the configuration file
will be saved as SIP<mac>.cnf.xml where the <mca>portion represent the mac
address of your phone in a lower case, you should go and rename the file to
SIP<MAC>.cnf.xml (MAC address should be in upper case) on the tftp server root
directory. There is a bug I hope it will be fixed soon.

regards,

Subject: [sipx-users] Cisco 7970G Phones

Hi,
I have two Cisco 7970G Phones with SipXecs 3.11.9. Does anybody know how to
add the SipXecs server information to the phones? I figure I could enter the
sipxecs server ip where it says call manager but it won’t give me an option to
enter anything.
Any suggestions or help is appreciated.
Thanks
Scott
