Hi Mike, thanks for your quick response! I still have some difficulties grasping the current status of connecting SipX (current version) directly to a SIP-trunk. (It might be because english is not my native language, if so please have patience :)
When I read the following... From: http://sipx-wiki.calivia.com/index.php/HowTo_configure_a_SIP_Trunk "If you do have a firewall of some kind, you'll need something that can get the packets through or around your firewall. This is called, variously, a "SIP Firewall", or a "Session Border Controler (SBC)" " It sounds to me like I don't have to use a SBC if I skip my firewall, for example attach SipX to Internet with public IP. (security issues aside). But then, http://sipx-wiki.calivia.com/index.php/SipXbridge_Overview_and_Configuration seem to imply that one more component (SBC or sipXbridge) is needed to make SipX "speak" SIP-trunk... In Switchvox for example I can just configure the public IP of the PBX host (in my case on the FW) to get incoming SIP working. Anyway, Scott Lawrence (in another response), hints that 3.11... which includes sipXbridge might well be in the pipe. Thanks! /A Citerar "Picher, Michael" <[email protected]>: > You will need an SBC until version 4.0 comes out... > > Indeed, if you are "lucky and brave" you could try the development > version 3.11.11. > > Mike > > -----Original Message----- > From: [email protected] > [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of > [email protected] > Sent: Monday, March 02, 2009 5:37 AM > To: [email protected] > Subject: [sipx-users] Question on SipX and ITSP SIP-trunks / > SIP-accountsdeployment > > Hi all, > I have read most info on wiki trying to find a conslusive answer on > how to configure SipX for SIP-trunks in my setup. > > In particular, I looked at ITSP and SIP trunk: > http://sipx-wiki.calivia.com/index.php/HowTo_configure_a_SIP_Trunk > > And also here: > http://sipx-wiki.calivia.com/index.php/SipXbridge_Overview_and_Configura > tion > > Setup: > I have installed 3.10 from sipfoundry-3.10.2-centos5-i386.iso . > I am have access to SIP-trunk and individuall SIP-accounts from a > reliable Swedish ITSP. > I have a dedicated host for my PBX.
