Yeah, polycom is our normal....but this customer is looking for a lower
price point phone and likes the cisco/linksys.

As for Aastra, I recommend you and everyone else on this list send
emails into [email protected] and tell them you can't use their product
until this is fixed.

I just spoke with Aastra yesterday about this because I have a several
thousand seat project that we can't pitch aastra with because of the BLF
issue.

I was specifically told that engineering knows about it and can fix it
but until enough opportunities justify it, they have it at the bottom of
the queue. So until Aastra starts getting pounded with this issue, it
will not be fixed.

The aastra phone is really nice, we have used it on several other
projects where we didn't need BLF, and everything else works really
well, paging, intercom etc...and the web interface to the phone is
straight forward.

Matt,
We’ve been looking at various phones and having a play with them
recently. For BLF I think the your best route would be the Polycom
phones. We were disappointed that BLF on the AAstra phones is not
working with SipX as they are nice phones (physically feel good and are
well spec’d technically). We’ve got a few Linksys SPA941 phones and both
BLF and provisioning were a pain.

Subject: [sipx-users] Cisco and Linksys BLF

I have a customer asking about Cisco and/or Linksys phones.

It's been a long time since I've worked with a cisco phone and never
worked with Linksys.

Anybody have experience with them? I know BLF and intercom are big
deals for the customer, so those would be a must.

Thanks,

Matt
