I'm looking to possibly replace our current Asterisk-based PBX when sipX
4.2 rolls out (which I understand will have a much prettier interface).

While 4.x finally makes sipX more "Asterisk-like," in that it can now
operate as a b2bua, the one issue that I don't think has been addressed
yet is the ability to configure overlapping prompts and extensions in
the Auto-Attendant.

Specifically, when configuring an Auto-Attendant under "Actions" the
following is stated: "To allow the attendant user to dial someone's
extension at any time, do not assign an action to the first digit of the
digits in the range of internal extensions. For example, if your
internal extensions all start with 1, leave 1 blank."

I don't know what others think about that limitation, presumably it's
not a big deal since it is still there, but I just think that's kind of
weird. Asterisk, in comparison, doesn't force me to "skip" using the "2"
in Auto-Attendants just because our extensions start with a "2."
Furthermore, I can't recall the last time I stumbled across an
Auto-Attendant that went something like: "Press 1 for sales, Press 3 for
billing..."

Is this situation likely to change anytime soon? Or is the limitation I
speak of non-existent (perhaps someone can explain what I'm missing).

Thanks.
