We usually refer to this as a “Hoteling” or “Hotdesk” feature. This is not
available in the system. The user can however log in to the user self-service
portal and forward their extension to any phone they would like… cell phone,
home phone, other extension on the system.

Another option would be a softphone on their laptop, then it is always with
them.

Subject: [sipx-users] User log in help

Greetings,

Is SIPX capable of having mobile users 'log in' to different phones and have
that phone then be their extension, name, access to their VM, etc? Can you
point me in the right direction to any information on this feature if so. I
did spend time on http://www.sipfoundry.org/ff.html and
http://sipx-wiki.calivia.com/index.php/The_sipXecs_IP_PBX_Feature_List and
could not find what I was looking for.

What I mean by 'log in' is to have a phone available where a mobile user can
enter their user code, and the phone attaches to the PBX with the configuration
settings for that user (User name, extension, voicemail access, etc).

Thanks in advance,
