The traffic goes through sipxbridge. -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Jeff Gilmore Sent: Friday, September 25, 2009 2:03 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [sipx-users] sipx & QOS
I know that, when using sipX, regular audio traffic between attached phones does not pass through the switch, but goes directly from phone to phone after call setup. My question is, is this also true for call traffic that is routed offsite, from either inbound or outbound calls to an ITSP (VOIP trunking provider)? That is, when calling offsite through a gateway that is handled by the SipXbridge, do the call audio streams all pass through the SipXbridge or do they go directly from extension phones to the ITSP? I ask because I am trying to figure out how to implement QOS through my firewall. If I know that all call data streams go only to/from the sipx server, it seems a lot simpler to manage.
