What version of sipXecs are you using?
When you say that the phones can't call eachother, do you mean that the
phone does not ring when being called or that you are having media
issues?

We have Nat Traversal enabled for two phones behind a DSL
router. The phones can't call one another directly using the SIPx phone
system.
The Contact: field ip address is being re-written with the
external ip address allocated from the ISP. So, the phones can't
communicate directly.
Is there a work around for this issue?
