You can also do a call forward "at the same time" from the ui for the user and put the phone on DND. This will keep the phone from ringing, but it will show the missed call in the phone logging.
There are 3 ways, generally DND (see above) Call Diversion (see jim canfields response) The third way is using a "Phantom user/call forward", but this only works if the line being called is not really a normal line that would ever get a call. Create a user with no phone, then do a permanent call forward from it User ui).
