Has anyone here had success using Siemens Gigaset A580IP DECT base and phones with sipX 4.0.4? I have a base with 3 handsets, each registering as a different sipX user. They register fine. But, I have played with them almost all day today and getting very inconsistent results when making calls. Sometimes I am successful in making calls between two DECT handsets (or between one handset and a wired phone). Sometimes calls go directly to sipX voicemail. Sometimes I answer on the receiving end, but the initiating handset gets voicemail. Sometimes it is a looong silence followed by voicemail. All these (successes and failures) happen within a period of 5 minutes, and without any change in sipX or the phone's configuration. And a few minutes later, I might be successful with one call, but not another.
I am about to return the Gigaset base and the handsets, but I thought I'd check in here once to see if anyone else has had success with them. Maybe I need to configure something right. Maybe I just got a faulty base. Sorry I didn't spend much time collecting logs that can assist the gurus here. However, I did notice the following error in sipXproxy.log when the calls didn't complete from handset to handset. "2010-01-22T03:16:39.585479Z":3302:SIP:ERR:<domain>:SipUserAgent-2:B6CFFB90:SipXProxy:"SipUserAgent::handleMessage SIP message timeout expired with no matching transaction" I am happy to dig up more log information if anyone wants to probe further.
