In "either" instance, its a yum update. Yes, I'm sure the schema changes. Yes, a backup is best to perform before upgrading.
4.1 is the "unstable" development version which will be 4.2 and made available as stable at some point. ============================ Tony Graziano, Manager Telephone: 434.984.8430 Fax: 434.984.8431 Email: [email protected] LAN/Telephony/Security and Control Systems Helpdesk: Telephone: 434.984.8426 Fax: 434.984.8427 Helpdesk Contract Customers: http://www.myitdepartment.net/gethelp/ ----- Original Message ----- From: [email protected] <[email protected]> To: 'Michael Scheidell' <[email protected]>; [email protected] <[email protected]> Sent: Tue Feb 02 21:20:56 2010 Subject: Re: [sipx-users] upgrading CENTOS 4.04 distro to 4.2? ish A key point here - "stable". Just in case there was a thought that there was a stable version for this. There is no stable release in 4.2 or 4.1 anything. All 4.1.? is unstable development code. 4.2 or whatever they call it at release time will be stable at that point, but it is not available now. The current, and most recent release is 4.0.4. What gremlins are you having? I suspect that like all software, the next release will have different gremlins. I haven't seen that there is a new AA in the next release. There are improvements to the dial by name though. I'd suggest looking through the roadmap for an idea of what is in it. http://sipx-wiki.calivia.com/index.php/Detailed_Roadmap_sipXecs_IP_PBX http://track.sipfoundry.org/browse/XX/fixforversion/10552#selectedTab=com.at lassian.jira.plugin.system.project%3Aversion-summary-panel http://track.sipfoundry.org/browse/XX From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Michael Scheidell Sent: Tuesday, February 02, 2010 3:25 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [sipx-users] upgrading CENTOS 4.04 distro to 4.2? ish What would be the procedures to taking a running sipxecs, from the CENTOS ISO with 4.04 and downloading a stable (4.1x?) or 4.2 version. I assume the upgrade is oneway, with sql schema's changing, right? This uses a newer AA? Less gremlins? or more? -- Michael Scheidell, CTO Phone: 561-999-5000, x 1259 > | SECNAP Network Security Corporation .
