I am using VOIP.MS for inbound and outbound calling, and I know of at least
one other party doing the same on sipXecs standard install. Worked on 4.0,
4.0.2, 4.0.4 and on 4.1.xxxxxxxx. And, it worked on the first attempt, with
nothing special being done to make it work. Happy to call you over it if
you like.

I'd suggest you have a setup issue on your end.

I've also got two sub-accounts working on it - one I use on a demo system
(3rd sipXecs system using it), and one I use as a DID for a special
application which forwards foreign calls off the switch to a remote user.

I'm not making any statements about the quality or reliability of this
service, just that it does work, I ran their service through the list of
tests that were published for testing ITSP's and provided the results to
this list back in July or so.

Subject: [sipx-users] voip.ms: tries to connect to random port

voip.ms, for those trying (it seems you can EITHER get it to do inbound, OR
outbound, but not both).
last test I did was using user/auth, live chat, guy tried to help, but there
is just something not syncing up.

looks like when it registers there, it sees a 'random' (> 1024) port, NOT
5060 or 5080, and then when you try to make an inbound call, it tries to hit
that port.

(netstat -an | grep {port}) shows nothing, so they must be, or the firewall
must be translating that port incorrectly.)

suggestions say to use nating on sipxecs, and tell them NO natting (that got
me so far, but no audio)

other things that might affect it: if you make any change to the
subaccounts on voip.ms, you have to restart sip proxy and sip registration
on sipx.

INVITE sip:[email protected]:12669, with session description

(and for some reason, its ALWAYS 12669).

tried ip auth also, but to make it work, you need to make an outbound call
first before you can get inbound calls. strange.

so, your choice: voip.ms can make either INBOUND or OUTBOUND call.
