Then it will never work properly. SET the remote PC to use a nameserver
outside of the subnet that provides the proper record.

In any case there are several DONT's:

Don't register to an IP address.
Don't register using an alias.
Don't expect anything to work properly until DNS functions properly for
where your client is set up.

You have violated all three Don'ts. Big fat 5 minute timeout for you!  [?]
