In case anyone runs into this, the fix in this case was that the time and date on the Sipxecs server had reset and made the certificate invalid.
The error that I received when starting sipxecs is the same as this: http://list.sipfoundry.org/archive/sipx-commit/msg11818.html Setting the date and time to the correct setting on the server fixed the error. It was a basic setting that I overlooked. Note: NTP is not used on this server.
