Well, the MultiTech used to have ports that could connect to FXO or
FXS... The newer units are FXO only which means you have to plug into
an FXS gateway.

The one down side to this (from a patton perspective) is that you can't
send DTMF digits after the fax picks up with an FXS gateway... so
routing to individual mailboxes is not possible with newer multitechs.
This is where my last install puked... I ended up just using the two
different lines into the multitech for two different mailboxes.

Tony, do you know if this was addressed?

Subject: [sipx-users] DID Faxing using SIPTRUNK, sipX, Patton
Smartnode,Multitech

In regards to this posting,
http://list.sipfoundry.org/archive/sipx-users/msg09550.html We have a
Multitech FaxFinder FF230 and it is my understanding that the ports on
these devices are FXOs.

I am rather confused about this part in the post above, "The FXO port on
the Patton Smartnode has a MutiTech FaxFinder plugged into its FXS
port."

Which port is which in the connection? FXO on the FaxFinder to FXS of
the Smartnode or FXO of Smartnode?
