True, but there are music files encoded specifically for 729. Problem is, the system won't allow them to be uploaded.

G.729 exploits attributes of the human speech to do compression while minimizing the loss of quality. These attributes are not found in music and the resulting compression has poorer quality. Bottom line is that G.729 is designed to compress human voice, not music nor tones.
