What is the path it uses to get PSTN access? Your answer would be (typically):

1. PRI gateway
2. POTS gateway
3. SIPTrunk
4. Other

You're asking a question with half the picture painted.You can tell
the gateway to use t.38, and would fine in communicating with gateway
types 1 & 2 above, as an example. "Most fax machines talk at 14.4k and
you always have to rely on the least common denominator of 14.4
(especially if using a G711 codec).
