The method you have described sets up a trunk between sipX and CCM/CUCM, so the media will need to traverse the sipxbridge (i.e. the media will pass through the sipx server). If you set up the cisco CCM/CUCM as an unmanaged gateway instead, then your phones will talk directly to your CCM/CUCM, unless you would prefer having an SBC in the path.. You probably know what the benefits of going direct are...
