G.729a, maybe 32K to 45K (with less latency. and 0 packet loss. I don't think G.729a likes packet loss) your home broadband might 'de QOS' voip in favor of their own, or just not bother. 911 isn't the same. and if you have kids playing games or downloading 'educational videos', all bets are off. (ps, I don't have a home landline, haven't have one for over 6 years.
