Ok, I have no issues with being wrong about something but there's only one way 
to learn, by finding the problem.
I'm not using NTP in any other way that I know of. I deleted the file I was 
using, there is nothing else on the system which I've put on there which is 
modified.

Fair enough but since I didn't put one anywhere, I'm not sure where that could 
be. The script I had in cron.daily is all I had on the system.
I'm searching the system right now for anything else that might have been 
introduced in error.
