Last time I tried this trick on a GXV3140 the poor thing would just  
crash upon loading the settings file.  (IIRC, its f/w was at  
v1.0.1.6.)  I don't think it was particularly smart of the GrandStream  
guys to use a binary format for the configuration file.  I tried to  
make sense of the plain text template for GXV3140
