This is called a PIC code . Your carrier should be doing this for you (your lec anyway).
No. Just add that at long distance dialing rule as a prefix to send to the gateway. The LEC should know who your L D carrier is and do this for you. It's nonsensical. The reason a user would dial it is to dial around one L D provider and user another (ex: 1010288, at&t). Your lec should be aware of who the carrier of your choice is and put that in their db so your calls get routed to the appropriate carried tandem who know how to bill you. ============================ Tony Graziano, Manager Telephone: 434.984.8430 Fax: 434.984.8431 Email: [email protected] LAN/Telephony/Security and Control Systems Helpdesk: Telephone: 434.984.8426 Fax: 434.984.8427 Helpdesk Contract Customers: http://www.myitdepartment.net/gethelp/ ----- Original Message ----- From: [email protected] <[email protected]> To: [email protected] <[email protected]> Sent: Wed Jul 14 20:34:53 2010 Subject: [sipx-users] long distance prefix I just found out we are supposed to add a '1010xxx' prefix to our long distance calls. Is the correct way to do this by entering a separate gateway to our Patton - and use the Prefix field in the Dial Plan? [cid:[email protected]] Or is there a better way to accomplish this? ________________________________ This message and any files transmitted with it are intended only for the individual(s) or entity named.
