okay, so in case there is still someone out there on 3.10.x looking to
upgrade, here is my 3.10.3 -> 4.0.4 -> 4.2.1 path, which (seems to have)
worked for my single-server setup. 4.0.4 yum repos seem to be borked
(pointing to 4.2.1 repos), which slowed me down a bit.

basically:

(1) remove sipxecs repos from yum and s/5.2/5/ the sipxecs.repo file.
(2) yum update, reboot
(3) pull down 4.0.4 rpm's that aren't *devel* or *debug*
(4) rpm -Uvh *.rpm - you will get complaints about missing dependencies.
just keep issuing that until everything installs or until you are only left
with external dependencies you can pull down from the standard centos repos
using yum install.
(5) reboot
(6) send profile to server, wait a bit, check to see if phones are
registering and all services are up.
(7) now add the 4.2.1 repos and yum update.

and make sure to back up your zone files if you're using sipx for dns!
