I would expect that with the eZuce EDU and corporate programs, this may gain
some traction. A lot of large firms wil want to see it on the roadmap,
universities most surely will.

Endpoint and gateway manufacturers have remained silent though as far as I
see.

Subject: [sipx-users] IPv6 revisited?

Hi

I know this has been discussed before but maybe it's time to raise the
question again? I know that Asterisk is starting to
implement IPv6 support, Cisco has it already, so maybe it's time for SipX to
jump onboard the growing Internet as well?

I know it's not an easy or straight forward "fix" to do this, IPv6 addresses
will show upp in a lot of places and raise a lot of
issues, but maybe it's time to start thinking about it? At least here in
Sweden the requirement for IPv6 support is increasingly
showing up in procurements and technical specifications, including those for
VoIP and telephony systems.

I'm more than happy to help out with tests and debugging but I'm not a
developer. Maybe the absence of IPv6 support is
to be registered as a bug that can be "fixed" in a future release in the
tracker?

Thanks to everyone for the great work participating in the development of
SipX and this great community.

Regards,
/Staffan
