the forced install of openfire gives: rpm -Uvh --force http://download.sipfoundry.org/pub/sipXecs/4.2.1/CentOS_5/i386/sipx- openfire-3.6.4-10.4.i386.rpm Retrieving http://download.sipfoundry.org/pub/sipXecs/4.2.1/CentOS_5/i386/sipx- openfire-3.6.4-10.4.i386.rpm warning: /var/tmp/rpm-xfer.mwpdFt: Header V3 DSA signature: NOKEY, key ID 8b18c8b9 Preparing... ########################################### [100%] 1:sipx-openfire ########################################### [100%] /var/tmp/rpm-tmp.93434: line 4: unpack200: command not found chown: cannot access `/opt/openfire/lib/commons-el.jar': No such file or directory /var/tmp/rpm-tmp.93434: line 4: unpack200: command not found chown: cannot access `/opt/openfire/lib/hsqldb.jar': No such file or directory /var/tmp/rpm-tmp.93434: line 4: unpack200: command not found chown: cannot access `/opt/openfire/lib/jasper-compiler.jar': No such file or directory /var/tmp/rpm-tmp.93434: line 4: unpack200: command not found chown: cannot access `/opt/openfire/lib/jasper-runtime.jar': No such file or directory /var/tmp/rpm-tmp.93434: line 4: unpack200: command not found chown: cannot access `/opt/openfire/lib/jtds.jar': No such file or directory /var/tmp/rpm-tmp.93434: line 4: unpack200: command not found chown: cannot access `/opt/openfire/lib/mysql.jar': No such file or directory /var/tmp/rpm-tmp.93434: line 4: unpack200: command not found chown: cannot access `/opt/openfire/lib/openfire.jar': No such file or directory /var/tmp/rpm-tmp.93434: line 4: unpack200: command not found chown: cannot access `/opt/openfire/lib/postgres.jar': No such file or directory /var/tmp/rpm-tmp.93434: line 4: unpack200: command not found chown: cannot access `/opt/openfire/lib/servlet.jar': No such file or directory error: %post(sipx-openfire-3.6.4-10.4.i386) scriptlet failed, exit status 1 so the unpack command is missing.... This is a clearOS (CentOs + management layer), well it is in the sun-jre kit, but appearantly not installed through the alternatives system. After I made the symlinks, installation went fine. The sun kit is from the sipxecs repository.
