I was on the front page of http://www.freeswitch.org today and saw that FreeSWITCH has implemented Codec2. Being curious I followed the link and I've got to say it's pretty awesome what they have been able to fit into 2.5kbps...that's several simultaneous calls on the equivalent of a dialup connection.
