When you specify the phone, it loads a preconfigured template that is
designed for that phone.   I'm not convinced the snom templates are updated
much, but maybe someone else can chime in.

SipXecs registers the end point, which is the snom phone.  When you go into
Diagnostics, Registrations, do you see the snom registered?  If not, you
will have to start there with your troubleshooting.

The user will be a line that is assigned to the snom device.

After creating a sip user, I supplied information about the phone
associated with this user which is snom 370.  This phone is on the
same subnet as sipx.

I am getting a time out error when trying to restart the phone.


Also, looking at the phone log, snom claims it didn't find the user.
I was able to register with the same user using x-lite.

What is the purpose for specifying phone in user configuration in sipx?
